Removing coil spring cover from small cutout

A quick learner from Va says:
We can not figure out how to remove the coil cover out of the track and be able to put in the new one. Our opening is much smaller. The cover is the triple about 4inches and the opening about 1 1/2 inches on one side. I attached a photo.
User submitted a photo of a window balance.

I see you have a cut out in the window. First, place a flat screw driver in the metal pivot cam and turn it clockwise so that the slot is vertical. This will unlock it. Make sure to hold onto the screw driver because the shoe will start traveling up to the coil springs. Bring the shoe to the coil spring housing, then unscrew the coil spring housing and slide out the shoe and springs through the cut out.
