My unit is 9 3/4 in height. And the side where u show 8 3/4" is continuous from top to bottom of door 77 1/4", as shown on previous photo

Ah, this is a type of French door latch system that we cannot replace. Seek the manufacturer of your door, or a local door repair shop for a second opinion. Thanks for writing in.
