Replacement Parts

Home Owner from MA
We purchased a home and several of the windows have a broken part that is causing the windows to slide down from the top when opened to let air in on the bottom. We had a window repair company come out and he said that the window has a spiral balance plastic cam block that the pin goes into and that ithe cam block needs to be replaced. However he cannot identify the exact part needed because there are so many varying sizes and he suggested we contact you as he found the above pictured label on the window in the bathroom. (He is replacing the glass in those windows.

Hope you can help!!

Hello! We can definitely help. The part you need is called a pivot shoe. Like your repair guy said, though, there are a ton of different sizes, and I don't know what yours is. I don't know why he didn't just measure it for you while he looked at it, that would have answered all your questions right then and there.

Either way, we can help but we will need you to tell me the exact width and thickness of the original. This will necessitate that you remove it from the track ahead of time. The width is almost certainly going to be 1-1/4", but it's a good idea to check just in case. The thickness could be anything, though. We will need that to ensure that the part we recommend will fit in the track properly.
