Replacement lock for sliding glass door

Question

I need to replace the lock on the sliding glass door because we just moved into this house. I need to have a new key to open the door. The handle is 13 inches long. The screws that hold the handle are 9 inches apart on center. I would prefer to just replace the lock with a new key if possible.

The 82-310 lock will not work. I need an oblong lock that will fit in the handle set as shown in the photos. The lock with its oblong frame is 1 inch long. Let me know if have something you think might work.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm a little confused by your post; you said that your key lock needs to be oblong, but looking at your photos it appears to be round. Can you verify that detail? Would it also be possible to see your key lock removed from the handle set? I would also need clear, written dimensions so that I can compare it to our 82-310 and see just where it differs.

The handle set in question resembles our 82-093, which should be compatible with the 82-310. At this stage I'm not sure why that didn't work or what the issue may be, so we will definitely need more information.
