Replacing K&K slider latch

A contractor from Rollinsville CO says:
I have a client that needs to replace her latching sliding door hardware with a keyed lock. The door is a K&K Gardenair patio about 25 years old. The Legacy 82-034 looks identical, accept for the keyed lock part. Will this handle work with the existing mortice latch?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
I'm not sure. You mention that the keyed lock is different. In what way exactly does it differ? Could you maybe show us a couple pictures?
A quick learner says:
The keyed handle is different only because of the lock cylinder, nothing else. No pictures available at this time but just visualize the exterior handle with out lock cylinder and that's it. The fastening system is the same and the hole centers are correct.
Is the 82-034 compatible with the old latch hardware?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
A handle set with a key lock should still be able to replace an old handle set without one. They use the same installation holes.
