Sash Weight Range

A handy person from Ohio says:
How do I determine sash weight? I have attached two photos of the sticker from the window.

The best way to determine sash weight is to remove it from the window and weigh it on a scale. Any common bathroom scale should do.
A handy person from Texas says:
Hi, I am not going to weigh a sash unless I can weigh it with a spring balance while it is still attached. Do you think a spring balance hooked onto the bottom of the sash will provide you with an accurate weight?

All my windows use a 19" series 306 spring balance. It seems your site only has one type of the series 306. Do I really need to know the weight?

Many thanks, Lee

Hey, Lee. Thanks for posting. Weighing the sash while it is still installed will not give you an accurate weight. I suppose it could give you a rough ballpark, but these are very delicate systems and exact weights are important. If you have the option to remove your sash to weigh it, I recommend that you take that route.

While our site only has one tip color option for the S306-19, that doesn't mean that other tip options aren't used elsewhere. It's possible your balances are specially made for your sash, which means we would have to do the same. There's no way to know unless you remove your sash to weigh it and get the most accurate weight possible.
