Screen door inside handle

Question

I bought item 40-150 and it looks good, but the existing handle bar that passes through the door is too large to fit in the new latch. Inside handle 1-3/4 white. Is there a way to adjust this or remove the internal bushing to make it larger or do I need a new part? Please advise.
