Sliding Door Runner repair

A handy person from Connecticut says:
My sliding door runner is actually made of plastic, not steel. A 4-5 inch piece has broken off, in the middle of the track not the end, due to too much use (abuse). I wish to repair this by either replacing the entire runner or repairing the track that the door runs along. Is this a feasible option for me?

I did watch your video where you place two separate types of tracks. However both of those are metal and and I'm not sure this would fit on top of a plastic track. Please advise.

Thank you. -Dan

Hey, Dan. Your track looks like it's meant for a sliding screen. I would suggest cutting off your exiting track and installing either our 80-111 or 80-111A. You will need to drill and attach the new track with some screws. Let me know what you think of this possible solution.
