Sliding door replacement

Question

The locking lever does not extend far enough when trying latch the door. I assume I need a new latching part and maybe handle as well.

You may not necessarily need a new mortise. If the only issue is that the hook doesn't extend far enough then you may just need to adjust it. You can do that by turning the small slotted screw just above the hook. Turning that one way or the other will extend the hook further out or retract it back into the base. Try that first and see if it fixes your issue before you buy anything new.
