I have a broken spiral window balance. The casing measures 29" and it has a black tip on it. When I look up a balance with my specs it doesn't list a black tip. Which do you recommend.

I see you were looking at our S900-29 spiral balance, which has a 3/8" outer tube diameter. It looks like your outer tube is missing, however, based on the naked spring I see. If that measures 3/8", then it's likely that your outer tube is 5/8" instead. See our S600-29, which does have a Black Tip option.

Paul,
The O.D. of the spring is 3/8". The O.D. of the outer tube is 7/16", not even close to 5/8". I am not sure why nothing is matching up, but I can't seem to find anything.

I know of no balance that has an outer tube measurement of 7/16". I would triple check your measurement. Don't worry about the inner diameter of the spring. I am confident you have a Series 600 spiral balance for a tilt window.
