Spring

Question

I purchased the windows from Hanson Windows. The spring broke they sent me one but it takes two. They're half inch wide. The Old spring has either a six or a nine stamped on it can you tell me what spring I need for this. Thanks Mike

Hey Mike. It sounds like you need new coil balances. I am confident we can help, but we will need photos to better identify what you are working with. Specifically I'd like to see a photo of the pivot shoe that the coil springs attach to. The identity of the pivot shoe narrows down the identity of the coil springs. As far as the '6' or '9' stamp, this unfortunately is tough to tell by the stamp alone. The best thing to do is to give me the exact weight of the window sash that the coil springs support. Give me that exact weight, and I can work out the spring weights you need.
