Spring-Loaded Latches for Removable Window Screen

A home owner from ScZ says:
The attached photos depict two spring-loaded "latches" that were positioned in the upper corners of a removable window screen. The parts as shown are about 2.25" long. However, other portions of the latches broke off and are not shown so, intact, the parts are actually a little bigger. The windows are labeled "Better-Bilt". The house was built in 1995.

In the second photo (#917), the small rectangular piece of flat plastic at one point was joined at a 90-degree angle to the larger piece above it, that is, the intact part would form an "L" of sorts.

Thanks for posting. This is pretty curious! These look like tilt latches, specifically the 26-157 & 26-158, or the Better-Bilt 26-351 pair; but these are for window sashes, not screens. I'm afraid we don't carry anything that comes in a larger L-piece like what you're describing. A local hardware store may be able to proffer a better solution for you. I apologize we can't be of more help, and best of luck with the repair.

Thank you very much. Learning and dealing with a new house is stressful enough. This has been very helpful.

Understood! It certainly can be a handful. Glad we can be of any help, and let us know if you have any other questions.
