Old storm door dead bolt wont fit in new mortice lock. I would like to get a thumb tab that will fit 40198.

I'm sorry to hear that the 40-198 didn't work for you. I don't think that replacing the handle or thumb lever will fix your problem, though. It's more likely that the 40-198 is just the wrong part.

In order to help you, I will need you to remove the original mortise from the door and show me a clear picture of it without obstruction. I also need you to carefully review the dimensions we show on the 40-198 store page and tell me exactly how yours differs. From there, I will do my best to find a good match.
