Hi, We have an old aluminum storm door on the back of our sunroom in Florida. We d like to install a deadbolt to ensure wind does not blow the door open in severe storms. Right now we leave two cement blocks stacked against the door when we close up and go back to Rochester Ny. We are only there 3 months during the worst cold for my husband s health. Would you please send step by step instructions for making the holes for the deadbolt and the proper sized tools needed? We ve watched your video and the install looks easy but that's with holes already in place from pre existing locks and handles. Thank you in advance for your reply .

Thank you for your inquiry. I am not sure what type of door or hardware you now have, but take a look at our 40-039 dead bolt lock. This lock can be used on storm doors from 1" thick up to 2-1/4" thick. It is used on out swing doors only.It comes with a template for new installation. You will need to drill three 1/4" diameter holes at 1-3/4" spacing from the center of the top hole to the center of the bottom hole. You will drill these three holes using the template to get the proper distance from the inside edge of the door. It's approximately 7/8" back from edge. I hope this has answered your question.
