Storm door handle with lock

Hello I am in need of a replacement lock for my exterior door. I believe the metal pole that holds the handles together broke at some point and the entire assembly is now in pieces. I need assistance figuring out how to fix or replace this w/o spending a fortune.
I don't necessarily need to lock it but it does need to latch to keep the dogs in.

Hello, Trish. Your handle set looks like the older Emtek handle set. I suggest taking a look at the 40-049 along with the related video. I have used this handle set as a replacement for the Emtek. I believe you will have to adapt the new handle to the door, but it should work for you.
