Tubeless Window Balance

Question

Hi. I have a spiral window balance Without a Tube. Yet everywhere I look I find Only spiral window balance with tubes. Why? And do you know or carry also ones without a tube??

All spiral balances are made with a tube by default. The reason for this is to protect the spring from any dust or debris that blow into the window from outside, which is a frequent occurrence.

To my knowledge, no spiral balance was ever made without an exterior tube. What's more likely is that yours was one of the old nylon styles that deteriorated and broke away over the years, leaving the spring exposed. It happens all the time.

To put it simply, there is no such thing as a tube-less spiral balance and you will not find one on the market. Having a tube is a necessary and standard feature of all spiral balances made today.
