What is this plastic piece and can I buy one?

Someone took the plastic piece that is in the photographs from an identical window. I need a replacement for the one that has disappeared.

I'm afraid I don't recognize this piece. Do you happen to know what its function is? Does it interact with any other particular part, and if so, can I see it?

It meets up with an identical piece. It is at the top of an awning window. It keeps the top from being loose when it opens. The side is a four piece extension on each side made by interlock. It also helps it stay tight when closed.

Thanks for confirming. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything that functions similarly. This is just a little too unique. You may want to contact the original manufacturer for assistance, whoever they may be.
