Window Balancers

A quick learner from Columbus OH says:
Hello,

I have a window that has tilt glass in it and is double hung in a bedroom that when you open it, it comes crashing back down. I believe this might be a balancer issue? Attached is a picture from a good window that works fine. Are these plastic pcs. what causes the window to stay up? If so, would you guys have this part? I do not know who makes the window and could not find anything on the window (numbers, etc.)

Appreciate any help,

Billy

Casey from SWISCO responded:

Hi, Billy. Thanks for sending in your photos. I think your coil balance may have become disconnected from the shoe because one or both pieces have broken. It will be tough to identify your hardware for certain while it is still installed in the window. I think you may have the 15-199 shoe and the 15-150S single coil support. Compare your dimensiosns and see if you agree. These are usually used with either the Series 160 or Series 165 coil balance. Compare yours to see which is the better match.
