Window Parts

A handy person from Reading, PA says:

The window is a slide up window and does not want to stay up. I probably need to replace the channel balance and the top sash guide? If you can help me identify which part numbers these are and which ones I need to replace, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Sunil

Yep, sounds like you need new balances. Start with our Series 390 channel balance, this looks like it'd be a good match for what you have now.

I'm less sure about the top sash guide. Do you have an undamaged version we can see? Could you also tell me its precise measurements? In the meantime, start by looking at our 18-142. This is similar, but I'm not sure if it will work.

Looks like your old stamp is 2230, so I would stick with that. I don't see any reason to change.

All of our balances come fully assembled with the nylon fittings and are ready to install out of the box.

Don't worry about what top sash guides we associate with the S390-23. This can be a bit misleading; every balance we carry is compatible with about a billion different top sash guides. That's why it's hard to know what you have without seeing the original in its entirety.

A handy person from Reading, PA says:
1. I'm going with the 23 in. channel balance. What is the recommended "option" to chose (ex. 2220 or 2230)?

2. Does it come with the channel balance top and channel balance shoe? Or does it need to be purchased separately?

3. The top sash guide you chose might be a good fit. However, the recommended one with the 23 in. channel balance is different. Does this matter?
