Window doesn't stay up

Question

My windows are 22 yrs old, the balance device inside the frame is falling apart. These have a spring inside with a string unit attached, the string is secured at the top of the frame with a screw. I cant remove the tracking device from the frame to know what parts i need. The plastic parts at both ends of the metal device is broken, a small metal cylinder came out and the window no longer stays secure.

Thanks for reaching out to us. We don't know what you may have from this description. We would have to see an undamaged balance assembly removed from the window. At the very least, we must see the shoe and the stamp printed on the balance. That's the only way for us help, I'm afraid.
