It sounds like you need a new balance, but your photo only shows me the cover. I'll need you to remove the sash and show me a picture of the pivot shoe, which is currently obscured in your photo. This will be a huge help.

I'd also like you to tell me the thickness of the coil springs themselves. This will require removing the balance system from the window beforehand. 

Once we have this information, I'm very confident that we can recommend the right hardware for your window. Watching the video below will also be helpful for you in this project.
