Window won't slide

Question

We followed this video exactly, but when replacing the window, it never snapped onto the channel balances. When we try to push the window down, it's very hard, and doesn't stay even on both sides. The balances and parts all look OK. It is a vinyl window. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm afraid I don't know what the issue may be. If I understand your post right, then you're having trouble putting the sashes back into the window frame.

Your first step should be to check the condition of the top sash guides. These are plastic clips on the top two corners of the sash and their entire job is to keep the balances under the sash while it operates. If yours are broken, it would explain why you're having this issue.
