How to fix a sagging commercial door

A quick learner from California says:
The door on my sandwich shop is not working properly. I think it sags because the hinges are bent. It also sometimes slams shut.
This door gets a lot of traffic, and I have two of them. Do you have any ideas?

You have what is called a center hung commercial door with concealed pivots. It might have Jackson type pivots, but I'm not sure. You must take the door down to find out what type. You might just need to adjust and raise up the bottom pivot. Either way, you will need to remove the door to have a look. To be honest, this is not an easy fix. I would suggest contacting a locksmith or glass shop in your area who repairs commercial doors. Whoever does the job, have them start early in the day in case they need to get parts. You want to be sure you can close up at the end of the day. At least, that's the situation I've always found myself in!
