casement window hardware

I have a broken lock. The number on the back of it is 45189. I just received a replacement part from Swisco. do I need to replace the keeper as well?

Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us. I couldn't cross-reference the number you gave us. I see you purchased the 38-144 lock but I can't confirm if you'd need to replace the keeper as well. Can you show us a photo of the original lock?

I hope this helps. I replaced other latches on single-catch windows (with Swisco products) and have had no problem. This is the first double. It comes very close to grabbing the keeper but the keeper feels too big. Thank you

Thank you for the photos! The lock shown here indeed looks like the 38-144. It's odd that your old keepers don't work with it. I wonder if yours are an older version or something. The 38-276 and 38-277 keepers are designed to work with the 38-144 though. You shouldn't have a problem with these since they're what the lock is meant to use.
