16-3 DN CALDWELL BLOCK & TACKLE WINDOW BALANCE FOR NON-TILT WINDOW

A quick learner from Port Angeles WA says:
Block and Tackle Window Balance for non-tilt window, marked 16-3 DN CALDWELL, has a broken cord. I assume I need to replace the whole Block and Tackle Balance, but I'm not sure which is the correct one. I couldn't find the other end of the broken cord, but the last picture, from your website, I think looks like that clip. Thank you for help in identifying the part that I need.

Hello!

Our S380-17 or S385-17 with the 1630 option are my picks. The important difference between the two is the depth of the bottom fitting as shown below. You'll need to measure yours to see which is the best match.

Hi Emily, thanks for the quick reply!
I measured the bottom fitting and it looks like it's closer to 1 2/32 deep.
Would you recommend the S385-17?
Thank you.

Emily from SWISCO responded:

It is possible that your bottom fitting was once 1-3/32" and just wore down over time from use. With that said, our Series 385 is likely what you want but you could always check an identical window in the house to confirm!

A quick learner from Port Angeles WA says:
Hi Emily, thanks again for the quick reply.
I was wondering if the bottom fitting might have worn down. Glad you mentioned that.
I will order the Series 385, with the 1630 option checked.
I just read that it is a good idea to replace both window balances at the same time, so I will order 2.
I also just watched the video on replacing them, so I think I am all set.
Thanks again for all your help!
