Also wondering if there is some sort of liner or a peice that goes between the top of the sliding door and the frame as it's metal on metal when door is opening or closing??

Looking at the photos of the track and door, most sliding doors have a guide. Unfortunately with the original missing, we cannot confirm which style the door may have used. Do you have any idea of the brand of the door? We may be able to determine by the brand, but we cannot guarantee.
