Broken Shoe for a tilting window

A home owner from Shelton, CT says:

Hi,

I am a homeowner who recently bought a home that was built in 2005. I am unable to identify the manufacturer of the double hung window that will no longer stay up. . There are markings on the balance spring cover. It shows the following: 30B and then BSI .

The shoe at the end of the spring has no markings on it, but it is made of plastic. The insert is metal. It is on the attached photo. On the left side it is still attached to the end of the spring. See photo number 20230906_131110.jpg

The shoe on the right side has come out of the shoe on that side and the existing end of the spring mechanism. It is pictured on photo number 20230906_131006.jpg.

Thank you,

James

Hey there, James.

I'm familiar with this configuration. We don't have an as-is stock balance that can replace it but we can still help via custom order. We'll basically take the Series 770 plain channel balance but swap the default terminal clip with the 15-044 attachment. I'll just need you to measure the metal channel and tell me what you get. Can you confirm the number of balances you need as well?

The pivot shoe may be the 15-216 but we recommend you remove yours from the window and compare the specifications just to be sure.
