Broken coil spring

A quick learner from Hamilton, Ohio says:
My window has a broken spring in the left side track. One of the photos above shows a S/N and a Series. The track that the spring mounts into is 1-9/32" wide x 17/32" deep. One of the photos shows the broken spring with cartridge and stop. The other two photos show the unbroken right side spring cartridge and stop. The sash that these springs support weighs 30 lbs.

Hello,

I would recommend removing your pivot shoe from the window to compare to the 15-177 shown below. This shoe is used with the Series 152 coil springs and related items listed on our product pages. I would recommend using one S152-6 and one S152-9 on each side to support a 30-pound window sash. Take a look at these parts, as well as the videos related on this page, to help you through the repair process. Thank you!

Yes, my coil balance shoe measures exactly as in the description of part 15-177. So I will order two of those.

The two pieces of my current broken spring are shown in the photo below and I think it started life as one single spring. Also shown are the two plastic pieces of the spring holder.

My question is, If I order an S152-6 and an S152-9, how would I connect them together?

Thank you.

The top coil would wrap around the bottom to attach to the side of the 15-177 pivot shoe with a screw. The 33-072 is commonly used with this assembly.
