Broken window balance

A quick learner from Monroe, NC says:
Sorry, no numbers on balance and no mfg. info on window frame. Windows are double pane, double hung. Old balance pictures are complete except for part of clip that fits into a slot in the window frame. Measures 28 1/2 inches tip to tip. Window panel weights 16 lbs. T-shoe is 1 1/4 inches wide.

I saw an old e-mail??? from someone asking for your help. Photo of his balance looked very similar to what I have. Your recommendation was Series 795 Channel Balance, product code S795-29.

Your products all have a U-channel around the block & tackle part. I'm a little confused on that part. Does whole assembly fit into the slot in the window frame?

I'd really appreciate any help you can provide.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Your balance is the old rod-type assembly, which is very old and long since obsolete. The Series 795 is a more modern replacement. While it may be different in overall construction, it still serves the same purpose. The catch is that some adaptation is required to get it working in your window.

Fortunately, we have a video that explains exactly what you need to do in exhaustive detail. I highly recommend watching it if you haven't already.
