Caldwell channel spring?

A handy person from Sarasota Fl. says:
Trying to identify the part, also I tried reinstalling but I can't get the window to fit with both springs reinstalled. Aluminum single hung windows probably from the late 80s early 90s. thanks

Thanks for posting. Is the metal channel, not including the end attachments, 30" long? If so, this might be an S377-30 Channel Balance, with a stamp option of 2910 (your old balance's stamp reads 29-1, which would accord with the 2910 option). However, please compare your old balance's fittings to the 19-018 Top and 15-005 1" deep bottom. See their dimensions below, and let us know if anything seems different. As for removing and re-inserting the sash, it is certainly a tight fit, but assuming the balances and top sash guides are in working order, it's simply a matter of taking your time to fit in. See if the video below helps, or if you have further questions or concerns.
