Channel Balance "17D"

A quick learner from Belleville IL says:
I'm trying to determine the proper w channel balance to order. My broken balance is 18", states "17 D". Not sure what the latter means. Top and bottom guides look like S351. Not sure dash weight. Thanks.

Hello! If the top and bottom guides match those included with the Series 351, then the S351-18 would be the most likely replacement assembly. Your older style stamp of "17D" usually matches our more modern 1740 option, but weighing your sash is the best way to confirm. You can do this by removing the sash from the window and placing it on a scale. Any common bathroom scale will do.
