I'm looking to replace the entire balance, pivot bars and pivot shoes on two windows in my home. The window jamb does not have cut outs to easily remove the pivot shoes but I'm concerned the vinyl/plastic components to the jamb will snap if I attempt to use the jamb spreaders. Do you have any suggestions to remove the shoes? Of course I'll also need to replace them.
Thank you Another thing I should add after reviewing the "cut out" method video is that my window has these threaded stops in the sides of the jamb that don't allow the pivot shoe to slide to the top. They don't seem to be able to be removed either. Is this the window repair from hell?
