Re door latch 83-040.. can you tell me the length of the little silver latch itself and how far it extends past the handle once installed. It looks longer than all others that I have looked at, which is what I am looking for.

The overall length of the metal latch that comes with the 83-040 set measures 2-7/8" and has a projection of 1-13/16" when assembled. Just let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for posting!
