Fay channel balances

A quick learner from Federal Way, WA says:
The channel balances are OEM from 1987 new home construction.
The sash is very hard to move up and down.
The metal length is 13".
Please advise what series to order.
Thanks.

Thanks for posting. It appears the bottom fitting, or nylon attachment, lacks side tabs, or what we call 'wings'. See the diagram below for reference as to what I'm talking about. Does the top fitting have them? It's admittedly tough to tell in your photos. If you could send us a clearer picture, we should be able to then confirm what kind of channel balance you have. Many thanks.

That's perfect, thank you. This looks like our S395-13. Please compare. For a new stamp option choose 1240. Let me know if you have further questions.

A quick learner from Federal Way, WA says:
Hi,

I posted two pictures of a channel balance Aug 13. The right side image, showing the plastic assembly at the top position does not represent the original design. A tab has broken off.
The new image shows the top plastic assembly with the tab.
Is this channel balance still part of Series 395?

Thank you.

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Yes, I think so. I don't see anything in these photos that would disqualify our Series 395 from working. This balance comes with a 19-005 top fitting, so you can review yourself to determine if there are any important differences. So far as I can see they appear to be identical.
