Help installing 39-539

A quick learner from Venice, Florida says:
I received the 14 pairs of 39-539 I ordered and now realize the installation is a bit more complicated than I expected as they appear to be riveted to the aluminum bar that slides up and down in the window frame. In lieu of the rivet, can I use your 5/16" shouldered bolt if I tap (1/4-20) the sliding bar? Or do you have an alternative part that will do the job? Thanks.

Hello,

I have never tried using a shoulder bolt on repairs. What I used was a 3/16" pop rivet to reattach the operator linkage. The problem with repairing these older style Aluminum windows is that all the components are riveted together before they are assembled as a complete unit.
