How remove and reinstall (or replace)

A handy person from Sacramento, CA says:
I'm trying to replace the screen on this older sliding screen door. (I don't know manufacturer.) It appears to be riveted on, so I'm not sure how to remove and either reinstall (functions fine) or replace with similar part if needed. Also, to my untrained eye, it appears like the rivets go the entire thickness of the assembly front and back, which at about 3/4" thickness would be a longer grip range than I've used. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

It looks like you would need to drill out the pop rivets that attach the handle to the door frame in order to replace it. As for the flip lever, yours looks similar to the 83-112 mortise latch. I don't believe you can take the white plastic piece off of the latch without breaking it once it is installed. I would recommend drilling out the rivets on the inside handle and trying to remove the handle and latch from the door. Take a look at the related parts and video shown on this page. Thanks for posting.
