I need to find a replacement for this broken latch. What do you suggest and how do I remove the existing latch.

Thanks for reaching out to us. This latch is no longer available, unfortunately. However, the manufacturer recommends using the 90-313 as an alternative. Please note that it's important to remount the holes at the top using a screw like our 33-011. You don't want to use too long of a screw and be careful not to drill too deep, as you could damage the frame or the glass in the sash.

For removal of the latch, the installation screws are located in the back wall of the sash so you need to remove the window first which may be a tricky task.

A quick learner from San Francisco says:
Hi Emily,

Thanks for the information. Is it possible to install the new latch above/below the existing?

Thanks,

Shelyna

I'm glad I could help. The manufacturer suggests mounting the new lock above the old one.
