Installing lock on an Andersen sliding door that currently does NOT have this lock

Hello,

I want to install this lock on an existing Andersen sliding door that currently does not have this lock (see photo). I assume that I'll have to drill holes in the side of the sliding door to secure the lock to the sliding door AND also drill holes in the track for the bolt to lock into place. Is this possible to do? Or does the existing door and track need to come pre-drilled to accommodate this lock?

Hey, Thanks for posting. The 82-071 does come with directions. Basically, you will have to drill two holes into the door to attach the 82-071, which has a tapered housing to fit into the back stile of the door. Then line up and drill a hole into the track for the locking bolt. Just take your time when drilling, as you don't want to damage the door or the glass.
