Hi. Here a a photo of a right certainteed internal latch that I cannot find anywhere. It is 3 1/2" long by about 11/16"can you please help me find this. Also can you help me identify the pivot arm part and new fasteners to attach them to the same windows. Than you so much! Eric

Hello,

Take a look at our 26-317 CertainTeed tilt latch pair and see how the dimensions compare to yours.

As for your pivot bars, take a look at the newer style 26-175. I believe that this may work in place of yours if it has a metal center. Do you think you can get this to work? You may also want to consider our 26-353. Compare the dimensions to an undamaged pivot bar removed from the sash to determine your best replacement option. Thank you!

A quick learner from united states says:
Hi, thank you for your continuous support. The 26-317 will not work because the tab on the top surface will now allow the window to close completely (hits the top of window frame). The original designed part that I have has a recessed hole at the top where you're able to slide the latch inward with your finger tip. Also the mounting holes are not the same; my part has two screw holes, the 26-317 has one. Is it possible you can contact CertainTeed to assist as well?

Thank you for the information on the pivot bars; that will work :)

Unfortunately, the new style 26-317 CertainTeed latches are the closest replacement option that we have for your tilt latches. The good news is that we can still offer a solution. Take a look at our video below that will walk you through the process of replacing your current latches with one of our surface mounted alternatives. Thank you!

A quick learner from united states says:
Thank you for showing this option; however it will not work because since it is surface mounted it will not allow the window to close all the way up because it makes the top sash, combined with the depth of the replacement surface latch to thick.

Unfortunately, a surface mounted latch is the only other alternative that we can provide. If neither of these options will work for you, you may want to try contacting CertainTeed directly to discuss your options further. I'm sorry that we can't offer an exact replacement for your tilt latches but we wish you the best of luck with your repair.
