Looking for a mortise lock replacement

A handy person from Raleigh, NC says:
Hi there,

I'm looking for a more secure replacement for this locking mechanism. I saw some mortise lock replacements when seem like they would definitely be much more secure but not sure if any would fit my existing door. Would appreciate help identifying any that would work.

Thanks,
Sonny

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Hi Sonny. Your mortise lock appears to be our 82-227. This is what your door was designed to use, and there's really no getting around replacing it with the exact same design. Now this is a perfectly capable mortise lock--it looks like you might need a new keeper, so see the 89-020, 89-021, or 89-021HD. If you wanted a little extra security, you could consider our 80-006 Security Bar. Take a look and see what you think.
