New door handle

Hello, thank you for posting,

Your handle set resembles the 82-089 style that has a 3-15/16" installation hole spacing from center to center. We also carry the 82-086 keyed version. Compare to your original to confirm a good fit! 

If the thumb latch is not working properly, it could also be an issue with the mortise lock. I would recommend removing the handle set and inserting a slotted screw driver into the lock to try to throw the hooks. If it is not engaging, you may need a new lock.
