Non tilt balance

A quick learner from Orange, CA says:
Length of balance is 12" (metal channel). Stamps read 11 4 IT CMC2. Channel is 1/2" wide. Would need 2. Please advise which replacement part would be appropriate. Thank you.

Thanks for writing in. This looks like either an S380-12 or S385-12 Channel Balance. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. See the diagram below for reference. Measure the depth of your existing balance's shoe to determine which Series matches best. In either case, for a new stamp option choose 1140. Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks for the quick response, Bob! Measured as you suggested and it looks like the S385-12 is the one I need. Stamp option?

Great! Based on your old stamp of 11 4, you can use our 1140. Two balances with this stamp can carry a sash weighing 11 through 12 pounds. You can always weigh your sash on a scale to verify that, if you wish.
