Prism Window Broken Balance on exterior top window

A handy person from Denver, CO says:
I appear to have a Prism Window, as identified on the window lock. The left hand side of the window balance is stuck in the groove and separated from the post connected on the window. Appears to have a double coil spring. I need to get the specification on what size coil spring i need to order for this window.

Hello, thank you for posting,

It appears you have an older coil balance assembly that is no longer made. We recommend converting to the 15-259 pivot shoe and Series 159 coil springs. Please review the step by step video that details the conversion and additional parts needed.

Let us know if you have any additional questions!

Thank you. The window pane weighs 20 lbs and has two coil springs on each side. Are you saying that I should convert this to a single coil spring design?

Lauren from SWISCO responded:

If the window weighs 20 pounds, I recommend sticking to a double coil setup to get the exact weight support. You can stack (1) S159-4 and (1) S159-5 coil spring on both sides of the window using the 15-256 double support.

Please review and let me know if you have any additional questions.
