Replacement Spring Balance?

A home owner from Charlotte, NC says:
The windows are about 25 years old. The balance is a spring with a rod through it, attached to a tilt shoe with a string. The tracks are 1 1/4 x 5/8 inch.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. I recognize what you have here. It's an old rod-type balance that's no longer made but our Series 775 can replace it. You'll just need to measure the length of the balance as shown below, measure the width of the shoe and weigh the window sash to choose the appropriate spring strength option. There's a chart on the S775's product page under the product description that will show you which option you'll need based on the weight of your sash.

Let us know if you have any questions!
