A quick learner from Mt Shasta, ca says:
Hello. I opened my window and this fell out
Our home is about 40 yrs old and they're the original windows
They are aluminum frame
What type do I need to buy to replace?

Hello, thank you for posting,

To further review, are you able to show is an undamaged version of this balance? We will need to see a clearer view of the top nylon attachment as it is too damaged to identify. Please also confirm the length of the metal channel excluding the nylon attachments. From there we can determine the Series of balance that your window uses. Thank you!

Your balance resembles the S395-21 channel balance. Your 20D stamp should translate to a 2040 stamp option that can support a 15 to 23 lb window sash, but we recommend removing the sash and obtaining the weight to compare. Please review and let us know if you have any additional questions!
