Replacing Crossbow Window Balances

A home owner from Clarkston, Michigan says:
I have several windows in my house (built 2004) with crossbow window balances. Several of the pivot shoes have broken due to use (Old plastic parts can't handle excessive use). I tried S795-30 channel balances with 1" shoes after viewing Swisco video but the balance is too deep for the channel (only 1/2" deep) and the shoe will not fit into the channel to rotate (opening is 9/16").
Is it possible to use spiral balances instead as it appears the installation would work?
I have attached a photo of the current balances.

Hello,

We have come across the old-style crossbow balance shown in your photos in the past. We can supply replacements but it will need to be a custom order. First, we'll need you to confirm the exact diameter of the spring, which I suspect may be 3/8", as well as the exact length of your original balance measured from the bottom of the red shoe to the top of the nylon cap at the other end.

We'll also need to determine how your balance attaches to the top of the channel, which is tough to make out in your photo. Please also confirm the number of replacements that you need, with the minimum being two. Thank you.
