We have a casement window that when you crank it out...it falls down and away because the hardware has rusted out.Simonton Window purchased from Twin Rivers/New Bern. 3/14/96

It sounds like you might need a new hinge. We sell a variety of different hinges for casement windows, or even operators if that's what you need, but I'm sorry to say that the code you provided doesn't tell me anything about the hardware used in your application.

Before we can go any further, would it be possible to see a clear photo of the rusted out part itself? If you happen to have another window that uses the same hardware, but in better condition, that would be ideal. Otherwise as clear a picture as you can manage would be great. Thank you!

Thanks for these photos! They're a huge help. I see you also already found our 36-004-10. I would agree that this is a great pick to start out with, plus its stainless steel, so corrosion won't be much of a concern in the future.

At this stage it will come down to size. Now, ultimately our hinge won't be identical to your original, but that's fine. It's rare that these replacement hinges are an exact match, but they can still work as long as you replace both the top and bottom at the same time.

However I cam concerned about the length of the base track. In the case of our 36-004-10, this is 10". As long as yours is the same size then I feel confident that our product will work for you.

A quick learner from Pine Knoll Shores NC says:

okay, we measured the track at the bottom and it is 10". Can you call me and take my credit card over the phone soI can order this.

Thanks,

Kathy
