Size of Metal Latch

The metal latch on my patio sliding door is broken. What steps can I take to determine the size of the latch so that I can replace it?

Thank you for reaching out to us. It's going to be hard to get dimensions from your keeper with it being so damaged. How do the dimensions of your handle compare with the 83-034? This part comes with a compatible keeper. I'm afraid it's not sold separately though. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
