Hello -
My likely-original Storm King screen door closer on my 1951 home isn't closing all the way. I've adjusted the screw and it simply no longer pulls in the last 1 inch of travel. I managed to take it apart, and there appears to be at least one serviceable part inside; a kind of rubber piston. Do you carry any repair parts for this closer, and if so, do you think they'll fix my problem? I have a total of 4 of these on my house so it's worth knowing how to fix them. Any maintenance tips for the 3 that still work?
Thanks.

Hi Matt. The Storm King closer was one of the best made. I assume you might have tried this, but it's worth trying to lubricate your old closer first with some WD-40 to see if that improves performance. If not, we don't sell the components of this closer separately, but our 40-079 has been used as an outright replacement. Take a look and see what you think. |
