Will the 82-218 work for my door?

A quick learner from Colorado, USA says:
82-218 looks like the correct latch. However, the old latch is attached to a frame that inserts into the door. The frame / latch assembly screws to the inside frame of the door.the latch ends up being recessed in the door about 1/4 inch
